ABOUT US

When I was a child growing up in Detroit. I would watch and help my father carefully prepare and season meat to be grilled on an open charcoal pit in the back yard for family gatherings at our home. He had built his own BBQ pit and also made his own BBQ sauce. He would then select the wood never using lighter fluid because as he used to say, “… it messes up my meat”. His meticulous planning and attention to detail along with my mother’s sides made every event a family tradition.

In 2008 I had a mobile BBQ trailer built, it had four 200-gallon barrels and was mounted on a boat trailer. That proved to be successful venture, but more of a hobby that I practiced for family and friends – not really a business … yet. Family and friends encouraged me to start catering –something I had often thought of, enjoyed doing, and was in the back of my mind. One afternoon while BBQ’ing in my back yard, I forgot to close the patio door. Of course the smoke from my grill permeated the inside of the house. My wife, complaining about the smoke, said “Edward this smells like we’re in a smokehouse”. That was the birth of the business name “Smokehouse Ed’s”, the rest (as they say) is history.

Smokehouse Ed’s Mobile Charcoal BBQ Grill continues that tradition of using the very best cuts of meat. The flavor of our meats is enhanced with select wood (apple, cherry, pecan, maple, oak, and hickory). Just like my father, we carefully prepare and season the meats. Then the grill master takes over, smoking and grilling meats to perfection on our new mobile trailer equipped with our custom made grills and smokers. The meats served with Smokehouse Ed’s secret BBQ sauce and my wife’s sides, make our food tantalizing.

SMOKEHOUSE ED’S WELCOMES SOME NEW ADDITIONS TO THE FAMILY

Since the purchase of our large concession trailer 3 years ago which we named “Big Smoke” we found that we were using it for every event large or small, which was overkill for smaller events.  Due to the towing capacity and operational demands (it has a kitchen, large capacity smokers, fryers, refrigerator, large grill & hotbox) we found that it should be used only for large events (fairs, multiple day events, etc.)  and not small direct on-site sales on the weekends.  So welcome “Lil Smoke”.  Lil Smoke as we have affectionately named it, is a smaller towable smoker that is especially designed for smaller events and smaller crowds. Unlike “Big Smoke” it does not have all the accessories but will deliver the same quality of food and service that you have come to love.  It comes complete with a smoker, firebox, smokestack, workstation /Bar, custom star burners, and plenty of room for wood, charcoal, coolers, and hardware.  Of course, it would not be complete without the famous Smokehouse Ed’s custom signage, designs & logo.

To add more customer attention and attraction, we’ve also added a custom-made tent and tablecloths for our events. These add-ons were beautifully designed to our specifications and have the Smokehouse Ed’s fiery color scheme and pictures that are sure to capture your attention and will make you want to stop by for a taste of our succulent, delicious, mouth-watering ribs, chicken, burgers, sausage, brisket, pulled pork and sides.

As always, we thank you for supporting a Veteran-owned and family operated business for without you, there is no us and remember at Smokehouse Ed’s
